HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia X6 smartphone today in Chinese market. The smartphone is the first from the Nokia brand to sport a display notch, and brand licensee HMD Global has also included a dual rear camera setup with AI and HDR features on the Nokia X6. The smartphone comes in White, Black, and Blue color variant. The Nokia X6 has glass sandwich design with metal frame in the middle and sports a 5.8″ Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The display panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood, the X6 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 509 GPU. The smartphone will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants along with 32GB and 64GB of ROM. Further expansion of storage up to 256GB is possible via micro SD card slot. The device comes with Android 8.1 Oreo with customized skin laid on top.
In terms of camera, the X6 bears 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. Selfie department is handled by a 16MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,060mAh battery that when coupled with an 18W charger can deliver up to 50 percent of charge in 30 minutes, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. It measures 147.2×70.98×7.99mm (excluding the lens), going up to 8.59mm with the lens, and weighs 151 grams. Surprisingly, the Nokia X6 features face unlock along with fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options of the device include Cat.4 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. The device will go on sale starting from May 21st only in China. The Nokia X6 price starts at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,800) for the 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant, going up to CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 16,000) for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 18,100).
