The Japanese Bike maker Yamaha, has launched the FZS-FI in India. The FZS-FI comes with new 220mm rear disc brake and a new alloy wheel design and is priced at Rs 86,042 –making it Rs 3,000 more than the older motorcycle, which was priced at 83,042 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has a new mirror design and a new blue color scheme which looks decent.
The rear disk on FZS-FI is added to increase the braking performance – however, ABS is still absent. The new alloy wheel design on the updated motorcycle is identical to that seen on the FZ25 and Fazer 25. The new mirrors on the bike have a sharper design and suits the motorcycle considerably more than the previous ones (oval).
Other than the mirrors and disc brakes, the FZS-FI remains mechanically identical. It uses the same 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that makes 13.2hp and 12.8Nm of torque and mated to the same 5-speed gearbox, as well.
The new FZS-FI weighs less when compared to its rivals. The new bike can give tough competition to Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB160 Hornet.
