Hero’s pavilion at the 2018 Auto-Expo will showcase the brand’s new and future offerings. The two-wheeler maker is expected to launch its new scooter and will showcase the XPulse, and some other concepts too. These concepts hint at future production-spec two-wheelers from the company, one of which would be a 200cc-plus high-capacity offering.
New 125cc Scooter.
The 125cc engine market has seen a fair bit of growth in the recent years. Scooters like Activa 125 and Suzuki 125 and the all new Grazia have recorded decent sales figures. Hero Motocorp also want to enter in that market. The company is working on its own version of a new 125cc scooter which should arrive sometime this year. This of course is not a first 125cc scooter from Hero. At the 2014 Auto-Expo hero represented a concept of 12cc scooter known as Dare. However, there is no official notification on the new scooter, apart from the fact that the experts at the Hero’s Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur are hard at work getting it ready.
Hero XPulse concept
Hero MotoCorp recently took the wraps off the much-anticipated Impulse substitution – the XPulse concept. Taking the inheritance of the Impulse forward, the idea displayed a more sharper focus on off-road performance, thanks to its ground clearance, off-road tires, wind protection and an accessible seat height. The fuel tank, with articulated knee recesses, includes a flush-fitting fuel tank cap. As found in the teaser, the motorcycle includes an upright and commanding stance, with a one-piece seat that broadens onto the fuel tank –an expected element on an enduro bike. The engine in the concept is covered with adequate protection, which comes in the form of a concept, practical looking crash guard (in white) and a drilled underbelly bash plate. While the XPulse is just an idea, Hero has indicated the possibility of it being production-ready before the finish of 2018. The X-Pulse is expected to hit the Indian market in the final quarter of this year and be priced around Rs 1 lakh.
