After it’s Global unveil, Lamborghini has now launched the URUS in India. Luxury car makers are now understanding the love of Indian’s for SUVs. And here is the Urus. Let’s take a quick overlook of the car. Shall we?
The all new Urus is based on the MLB Evo platform that also underpins other Volkswagen Group SUVs such as the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. The Urus uses a lot of aluminium in its construction and has claimed a total kerb weight of less than 2.2 tonnes.
Urus has got some interesting bits and has some usual Lamborghini style stance. It has sharp cuts, futuristic design, powerful engine and is equipped with technology. It is completely Lamborghini in terms of designing, featuring styling touches inspired by Lambo’s first SUV, the LM002. It has razor sharp lines, trapezoidal shapes and also those sexy wheels makes Urus stands out.
To give this SUV power, company attaches a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It has 4-wheel drive system with a 40:60 front-rear split. Company claims 0-100 kph in just 3.6 sec and top speed of Urus is pegged at 305 kph, which makes it fastest SUV on this planet.
The Urus also offers active torque vectoring and a rear-wheel-steering system. The SUV features 440mm carbon-ceramic brake discs up front, the largest on any production car. At its highest setting the Urus has got almost 248mm of Ground clearance.
Adaptive air suspension is standard across all variants. The Urus features six drive modes – apart from the usual Strada, Sport and Corsa, there’s Neve (snow), Terra (off-road) and Sabbia (sand), along with Ego, a fully customisable mode.
Urus interiors are similar like we’ve seen in Huracan. It has plenty of hexagonal elements and features a jet fighter-style engine start button. At the cockpit, Urus gives you in total 3 screens. One full TFT Display that takes charge as the instrument cluster, a central touchscreen that lets you control audio and calls and the third floating touch screen that controls the Air-con and seats. It is as well equipped as a modern day luxury SUV.
The 12-way adjustable front seats are standard and has lots of headroom and legroom as well. There’s also good space in the second row and the boot (616 litres).
The Lambo’s URUS is priced at Rs 3 Crore (ex showroom), i know it’s quite expensive but hey it is Lamborghini!
