Xiaomi had already confirmed through a Weibo post that it will be launching the Mi MIX 2S smartphone on March 27. The Weibo post carried a teaser image revealing the device’s Antutu score along with the presence of Snapdragon 845 chipset. Tomorrow, Xiaomi posted a video on its Weibo account, asking “how fast is your Snapdragon 845”. This indicates that the Mi MIX 2S will be powered by the same chipset that powers other flagship devices of this year, it will be able to deliver better performance.
Previous leaks reported a 6.01-inch OLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio, Sony IMX363 camera sensor, 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A leak from yesterday also suggested an in-display fingerprint sensor.
In September, some leaks had claimed that Xiaomi and Qualcomm were working on improving the performance of Snapdragon 845 chipset. This suggests that compared to other phones like Samsung Galaxy S9 devices, Sony Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact and Asus ZenFone 5Z flagships that are fueled by the same chipset, the Mi MIX 2S will offer better performance. Xiaomi has officially confirmed that Mi MIX 2S.
