Leaks have revealed plenty of information about the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S phone that is slated to get unveiled on March 27. Today, a new leak come out and suggests that Xiaomi has been ordering 6.01-inch OLED panels from Samsung Display since December. Hence, it is guessed that the upcoming Mi MIX 2S and Mi 7 flagship smartphones may feature 6.01-inch OLED screen from Samsung.
New information that has appeared on a chinese website states that Xiaomi and Samsung had entered a deal for 6.01-inch OLED Display last year. The consignment officially began in December, last year with a shipment of around 1.1 million units in the first month and 2.2 million units in the second. Therefore, it seems that this deal will ensure steady supply of OLED panels for upcoming Xiaomi devices. Rumors suggest that the Mi MIX 2S and Mi 7 may both feature 6.01-inch sized display from Samsung.
The predecessor of MIX 2S i.e., Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 came with 5.99-inch IPS LCD panel. Since the Mi MIX 2S is an improved version of the MIX 2 it was expected that it will continue to sport same-sized IPS LCD display panel but may come with upgraded chipset and camera. However, a leaked image of “About Phone” page of the alleged Mi MIX 2S had revealed that it would arriving with a 6.01-inch display.
The Mi MIX 2S is expected to come powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 coupled with 8GB of RAM. The device is also expected to have 256GB of internal storage and is expected to be fueled by a 4,400mAh (non-removable) battery.
Six months ago, a report claimed that the Xiaomi Mi 7 would also be equipped with Samsung’s OLED panel. Additionally, it was recently revealed through the alleged firmware files of Mi 7 that it would be coming with an OLED panel to carry support for Always-On Display feature. And the new information is the deal between Xiaomi and Samsung’s Display suggests that the Mi 7 could be arriving with a 6.01-inch OLED screen.
Couple of days ago, a report revealed that the Mi 7 will sport an iPhone X notch. Also, Xiaomi is speculated to introduce in-display fingerprint scanner. It will be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset and may come in 6GB and 8GB of RAM options. The handset is expected to debut in June.
