Xiaomi has finally launched its latest flagship smartphones Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explore Edition today in China. The company also announced the all-new MIUI 10 with several new features and optimizations like new apps logo. Talking about the flagships, both the phones will come with similar design and hardware. However, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Mi 8 comes with 3D curved glass back body and the Mi 8 Explorer Edition has transparent glass body.

Both the devices come with a 6.21-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2248 x 1080 pixels) resolution and has 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Yes both devices does support notch and the notch display on this device offers 88.5% screen-to-body ratio. The display will be offering up to 600nit of brightness and 60000:1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, the devices has flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The Mi 8 is mentioned to have scored 301,472 on Antutu benchmark.

In terms of Optics, the Mi 8 comes with 12MP + 12MP AI dual rear cameras sensors with dual pixel autofocus, 4-axis OIS, and 1.4µm pixel size. With the AI integration, the cameras can also auto-detect the scenes for better serving the image settings. Up front there is a 20MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.8 µm pixel size. Both the front and rear can capture bokeh photos with the help of AI.

The Mi 8 Explorer Edition offers Face ID technology for accurate face recognition. To lit the screen, the Mi 8 is backed by a 3400mAh battery, while the Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with a smaller 3,000mAH battery. Both the devices support Quick Charge 4.0+ along with wireless charging.

The Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and is priced at 3699 Yuan. On the other hand, the Mi 8 comes with 6GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage configurations. The 64GB, 128GB, & 256GB storage variants of Mi 8 will cost buyers 2699 Yuan, 2999 Yuan, & 3299 Yuan respectively.
