Xiaomi Launches Yeelight Voice Assistant Speaker
Yeelight is from one the subsidiaries of Xiaomi. It offers home lighting solutions in China and also ships few of its merchandise to alternative markets including the U.S, U.K, France, Canada, and Germany. It sells sensible LEDs, table lamps, bedside lights, ceiling lights, and plenty of a lot of. Today, the corporate has launched its latest product in a new class. The Yeelight Virtual Assistant is the first ever smart speaker by the brand with built-in voice assistant.
The Yeelight VA Speaker looks similar to Amazon Echo Dot. Just like Echo Dot, the Yeelight Virtual Assistant comes with the action button, mike on/off button, volume up button, and volume down button. However, there’s an extra button for muting the speaker on Yeelight Virtual Assistant which is available on the larger versions of the Amazon Echo. The Yeelight VA will come with Dual AI systems and can be used for controlling other merchandise from Xiaomi. The Mi Home users can turn on/off their Mi products just with the voice commands.

We expect the Yeelight Voice Assistant speaker will be powered by Microsoft Cortana. The Yellight VA can detect voice commands up to 5m distance, like any other smart speaker can do. It comes with AEC ( Acoustic echo cancellation) and Beamforming technologies which reduces echo. From the connectivity point of view, it has 2.4GHz & 5GHz Wifi and built-in Bluetooth gateway. As of now, only limited Mi smart home products are compatible with Yeelight Virtual Assistant, but the corporate mentioned to support more devices in the coming days.
Yeelight VA also has a Micro USB port. It has 6 Microphones and a single 2W speaker. It has a 64-bit Cortex A53 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and comes with 256MB RAM and 256MB of flash storage. For the time being, the YellLeight Virtual Assistant Speaker is listed on the company’s crowdsourcing
platform with a price tag of 199 Yuan. The shipping of this new product is predicted to start from January 31st in China. It is not confirmed yet, whether the company will ship this smart speaker to other markets or not. Stay tuned for The Unbiased Review for more details!
