Samsung has today announced that the Galaxy A7 is going to be the first smartphone to feature a triple rear camera set-up. The Samsung Galaxy A7 features a dual glass design with a side mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with features such as Bixby, Samsung Pay, Samsung Health and Dolby Atmos audio.
The Galaxy A7 sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display and will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. However, Samsung has not specified whether the device packs a Snapdragon processor or in-house Exynos SoC. Obviously, the processor powering the device will vary depending on the country.
The Galaxy A7 packs 4GB and 6GB of RAM and 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively. Storage can be further expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card. To lit the screen, the device has a 3,300 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo on top of Samsung’s own custom UI.
In terms of Optics, the device packs a triple rear camera set-up, which is a first from Samsung. The trio consists of a 24MP (f 1.70) primary sensor, an 8MP (f 2.4) Ultra-Wide angle lens with 120-degree field of view and a third 5MP (f 2.0) lens for depth effect.
On the front, there is a 24MP sensor which is accompanied by a soft LED flash. The selfie camera comes with features such as Selfie Focus, Pro Lighting Mode and AR Emojis.
The Galaxy A7 comes in blue, black, gold and pink color options and will be available in selected European and Asian markets. Samsung has not revealed the pricing details of the device so stay tuned for that.
