Suzuki India is all set to launch a premium scooter called the Burgman street in the upcoming Auto-Expo. Thr Burgman nameplate is associated with Suzuki’s flagship scooter family and, currently, Suzuki produces 125cc, 200cc, 250cc, 400cc and 600cc guises for international markets. And for the first time the Burgman brand will come to India. As of now, Engine details are not clear and it could share the 125cc motor from the company’s prominent Access 125. However, it could also be possible that Burgman feature a new 150cc engine developed specifically for it. Currently, the only 150cc scooters on sale in India are the Aprilia SR150 and the Vespa 150.
Burgman Street will be the first Maxi-Scooter to go on sale in India since the kinetic Blaze. Burgman will feature a fully digital instrument cluster, a telescopic fork, a disc-brake at the front, multi-function key slot, good amount of underseat storage, a 12V charging socket, tubeless tyres and an LED tail-lamp. In international market, Burgman focused on more comfort rather than the design and is expected to offer the same in India. Images suggest that the Burgman street will offer 14-inch tyres as seen on the Aprilia SR150.
Much like Burgman family, the, street too, will be designed nicely. We can expect from the street to see a unique front- end, a large apron and an unusual windscreen.
The seat, going by Burgman family qualities, ought to be wide and comfortable with a pronounced step between the rider and pillion pads. The Street likewise seems to share its mirrors from the Suzuki Gixxer and the exhaust as well, seems to have a stylish cover.
We expect the prices to be around INR 70,000 and will compete with Aprilia SR150.
