Oppo has finally launched the Find X smartphone at an event in Paris, France. The all-new Find X has been in the rumors mills from last few months, but just before the launch The Verge has unveiled the complete flagship. But that was unofficial but now as the smartphone is official, so let’s talk about it officially. Along with Find X, there is also a Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition Smartphone with Super VOOC flash charge technology. The Lamborghini Edition with 50W (10V/5A) Super VOOC flash charge can be fully charged in just 35 minutes.
Oppo Find X specifications
With the Find X, Oppo is stepping its foot in North America and Europe. With 3D glass on both the sides, Find X looks very similar to a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. By looking at the device, you can’t find cameras anywhere on the device and that’s the most interesting part of the Find X. The Find X has a large automatic slide-out mechanism. When this part of the phone slides out, it not only reveals the front camera and 3D face scanning sensors but it also reveals the dual rear cameras and LED flash. Just open the camera app of the phone and boom! The entire top section of the phone motorizes up and reveals a 25MP front-facing camera, 3D facial scanning system, and 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera. Close the camera app and the whole assembly motors back into the phone’s chassis. The pop-up mechanism works for unlocking the phone too, all you need to do is- turn the phone on, swipe up on the lock screen, and the top of the phone will motor up, authenticate your face, and unlock the phone.
The Find X is backed by a 3,730mAh non-removable battery and supports standard VOOC flash charge technology that gives 2 hours of usage time with just 5 minutes of charging. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based custom ColorOS 5.1 AI.
After launching Real me 1 without a fingerprint sensor, it seems like Oppo has now decided to leave out the fingerprint sensor even on its flagship smartphone. The 3D facial recognition technology known as O-Face uses the flood illuminator, Infrared camera, ranging sensor, receiver, dot projector, and front camera to make it more secure than the fingerprint sensor. The face unlock feature of the device can also be used for making secure payments.
Apart from fingerprint sensor Find X also lacks the wireless charging supports and doesn’t even has IP certification. The 25MP selfie shooter can capture 3D AI selfie using the data from O-Face and also includes 3D portrait lighting. To answer Apple’s Animojis, Oppo has introduced its Omojis. The rear camera combo of 16MP + 20MP comes with OIS support and includes AI scene detection feature. The dual sensors on the rear are mentioned to offers AI portrait mode along with 3D lighting.

In terms of hardware, the Find X comes with a 6.42-inch dual curved AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution nad 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Find X has 93.8% screen-to-body ratio–the highest we have ever seen on any smartphone. The bottom bezel on this device measures just 3.4mm thick. Under the hood it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage.
