This year we have seen so many smartphones with that ‘hyped’ Notch design and 18:9 screen ratio. Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, all of them opted notch design and now Nokia also jumps in the race. Today, the company showcased the all-new Nokia X sporting the notch display. Nokia recently launched four new handsets and only the Nokia 7 Plus came with the 18:9 display. It’s pretty much interesting to see how Nokia has embraced the notch design compared to the 18:9 aspect ratio.
Nokia X to come with 5.8″ Notch Display & Dual Cameras
Nokia X comes with a top-notch design with Nokia branding on the bottom bezel. The smartphone comes with glass sandwich design with metal frame in the middle and 2.5D curved glass on either side. The power button and volume rockers are placed on the right side.
The Nokia X has a model number TA-1099 and will be initially exclusive to the China. The camera module integrates dual cameras and LED flash. Just below the camera module you’ll get a circular fingerprint sensor with chrome finish ring. It comes with the USB Type-C port and also retains the 3.5mm audio jack. However, nothing is official yet about the specifications of the Nokia X but we expect it could come in two variants. One variant will be powered by the Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and the other variant with MediaTek Helio P60 processor offers 4GB RAM. It has a 5.8-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is expected to come with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box.
Today, Nokia confirmed the launch date of the Nokia X as May 16th. Even though the smartphone comes with the notch, it is expected to be priced under 2000 Yuan.
Unlike the earlier Nokia devices, the Nokia X seems to miss out the ZEISS lens. From the images, we can’t locate the ZEISS logo anywhere on the device.
