With Microsoft already teasing the launch of the ‘next generation of Windows’ for quite a long time now, the company may finally launch Windows 11 at the upcoming Windows event on 24th June.
Prior to the event, a few screenshots of the updates coming in with the Windows 11 are surfaces over the internet.
The leaks reveal the upgraded UI, redesigned start menu, a new start sound, etc coming with this latest operating system.
Windows 11 new features and designs:
According to the leaks the app icons on the taskbar appear at the centre with a clean tray area.
A new start button along with a new start menu appearing at the centre, however you can also move the app icons or the start menu to the left side or centre as per your choice.
This time the start menu doesn’t come with Live Tiles and have a simple design with shut down and restart options. Windows 11 will come with app icons having round corners along with a system wide dark mode.
This upcoming Windows update will also have a widget icon for quick and easy access to news, weather and other information.
Reports suggest that Microsoft is also working on improving the Xbox experience with Windows 11. The Windows 11 will also come with new snap controls accessible from the maximise button on all apps allowing users to quickly snap windows side-by-side.
Microsoft has added new system sounds and is also working on a new app store that will come with the Windows 11.
To recall, at the Build 2021 conference the Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the next version will be “one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade” and that it will “unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators.”
Windows 11 expected launch date:
The Windows launch event is on the 24th June and will begin at 11am ET i.e 8:30pm IST. At this upcoming even Microsoft is expected to finally launch the much awaited Windows 11 update.
