BlackBerry and its Indian manufacturing partner Optiemus, together launched the Evolve & Evolve X smartphones, today at an event in India. The two phones share tall screens, dual cameras and massive 4,000 mAh batteries. So let’s discuss about these devices in detail. Shall we?
BlackBerry Evolve X
The Evolve X comes with the Snapdragon 660 chipset with octa-core CPU, clocked at 2.2 GHz. The GPU is Adreno 512, while the RAM is 6GB. Internal storage is 64GB and can be expanded upto 256GB via a micro SD card.
The Evolve X sports a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 ratio, making it the first BlackBerry smartphone in India without QWERTY keyboard. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear along with dual rear cameras.
The camera setup comprises of a 12 MP + 13 MP sensors, coupled by a dual-tone LED flash. The front camera has a 16MP camera sensor accompanied by a LED flash.
The Evolve X’s 4000 mAh battery is charged through a USB-C port and is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. The phone is powered by Android Oreo 8.1 and it comes with Blackberry’s own DTEK security platform.
Arriving only in Black, the device is priced at INR 34,990. It will be available from the end of August at Amazon India and will have cashback offers from Reliance Jio and ICICI Bank.
BlackBerry Evolve
The more affordable member of the duo, yet not that, misses on the wireless charging and the 6GB RAM. The BB Evolve has the Snapdragon 450 chipset with octa-cores and is clocked at 1.8 GHz with 4GB of RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be expanded via the microSD slot.
The Evolve also also has a dual camera setup with 13 MP + 13MP sensor combo. Both the sensors are of Samsung 3L8. The selfie snapper stays 16 MP with LED flash on the side.
Quick charging isn’t present on the Evolve. It is offered only in Black too, and the price tag is INR 24,990. Availability for this one begins in the middle of September 2018 as an Amazon Exclusive.
