Ming-Chi Kuo, a veteran analyst, well connected to apple revealed that the successor Airpods Pro 2 is expected to be launched in the year 2022 by Apple.

Kuo writes, “Even without the innovative experience of AirPods Pro 2 in 2022, Apple’s total TWS device shipment will be back to more than 100 million in 2022”.

The current AirPods Pro are still among the best wireless earbuds because of their seamless pairing with popular Apple devices such as the iPhone or iPad, and standout features such as noise-canceling and transparency mode. Apple’s next-gen earbuds aren’t expected to be much of an upgrade, but they could potentially add more health-focused features.

The demand for the product was lower in the second quarter of 2021. Therefore, the analyst is revising the shipment forecast to 70-75 million units from 75-85 million units. He also believes that the product has an advantage over other competitors in the market because of its USPs like Siri or through new innovative AirPods experiences like health monitoring.

Rumors also have that Apple will be integrating more motion sensors advancements and that can even lead to the integration of biometric technology in the coming future.

“AirPods are higher priced, target Apple device users, and aim to provide innovation and eco-experience to increase added value”, Kuo says. “Beats are lower-priced, target Apple and non-Apple device users, and increase shipments or market share.”

Kuo also says that if Beats Studio Buds perform well, Apple could lean more heavily on MediaTek solutions over its own chips for future Beats products.
