Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018), Alcatel took the wraps off from a bunch of smartphones. The company added five new smartphones and two tablets to its product range. The smartphones belong to Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3 and Alcatel 1 economical series.

All of the five devices, namely Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3, Alcatel 3X, Alcatel 3V, and Alcatel 1X are priced under 230 euros (approx. Rs 18,300). Interestingly, one of the variants of the launched devices- Alcatel 1X comes with Android Go – Google’s optimized OS for low-end hardware. Here’s an overview of all the smartphones and tablets.

 

ALCATEL 5

The Alcatel 5 is said to be the most expensive device from the company’s lineup at the MWC 2018. It is priced at 229.99 euros (approximately Rs 18,300). It includes a 5.7-inch display with the trending 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ (1440x720p) resolution.

Under the hood, the smartphone comes with MediaTek MTK6750 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. In terms of Optics, there’s a single 12MP rear camera with dual LED flash. According to Alcatel, the rear camera can be interpolated to capture 16MP images. At front, there’s a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13MP+5MP sensors with a front flash. According to sources, the interpolation works for the front camera as well.

Other features include a rear fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, a USB Type-C with fast charging support. The smartphone runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box and will be available in starting of this month in color choices- Metallic Black and Metallic Gold.

 

ALCATEL 3, 3X, AND 3V

Alcatel 3 features a 5.5-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It runs on Android Oreo. For snappers, there’s a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Other features include fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, and microUSB port. The Alcatel 3 will be available at a price of 149.99 euros (approximately Rs 11,900). It will be available in 3 color choices like Spectrum Black, Blue, and Gold.

Alcatel 3X sports a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by the same processor as the Alcatel 3 i.e., MediaTek MT6739 quad-core coupled with 3Gb of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. For optics, there’s a dual-camera setup at the rear including a combination of 12 MP+ 5MP cameras. Up front, there’s a 5MP camera sensor.

Other features include Android Nougat, rear fingerprint sensor, and facial recognition. The Alcatel 3X will be available at a price of 179.99 euros (approximately Rs 14,300) in color choices of Metallic Black, Blue, and Gold.

Last but not the least, Alcatel 3V . It is equipped with a 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio IPS 2.5D curved display that packs a 2K (2160 x 1080) screen resolution. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT8735A quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable upto 128GB via microSD card.

For optics, there is a dual-camera setup at the rear with a combination of 12-megapixel+2-megapixel sensors. At front, there’s a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies. Other features include Android Oreo, rear fingerprint sensor, and facial recognition. It is priced at 189.99 euros (approximately Rs 15,200) and is available in color choices of Spectrum Black, Blue, and Gold.

 

ALCATEL 1X

The Alcatel 1X is the first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone from the company. It is also the most affordable device from the lineup. It features a 5.3-inch 18:9 display. Under the hood, there’s a quad-core processor packed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Based on variants, there is either an 8MP or 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front camera. With Android Go, the smartphone comes with Google’s new suite of pre-installed apps including Google Go, Files Go, Google Maps Go, YouTube Go, and Gmail Go. It also includes Google Assistant for Android Go.

The Alcatel 1X will be available starting at a price of 99.99 euros (approximately Rs 7,900) and is available in three color choices of Black, Blue, and Gold. There’s also a 3G variant in the line-up called Alcatel 1C, which will be priced at 89.99 euros (approximately Rs 7,200) and is available in color choices of Metal Black, Blue, and Gold.

 

ALCATEL 1T 7 AND 1T 10 TABLETS

The Alcatel 1T 7 and Alcatel 1T 10 tablets are one the affordable tablets in the market running Android 8.1 Oreo. The 1T 7 is a 7-inch tablet, as suggested by its name with 1,024 x 600p IPS display whereas the 1T 10 features a 10-inch 1,280 x 800p IPS display.

Both the low-end tablets run on quad-core MediaTek MT8321 processors with 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB of internal storage. The 7-inch model includes 2,580mAh battery (last up to 7 hours) while the 10-inch model comes with a 4,000mAh battery (last for up to 8 hours). The Alcatel 1T 7 is priced at $70 (approximately Rs 5,600) while the 1T 10 is priced at $100  (approximately Rs 7,900).
