Last month, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A9 smartphone with quad rear cameras at an event in Malaysia. It is the world’s first smartphone to feature quad rear cameras. As teased earlier, the company today launched the Galaxy A9 smartphone in India. The device comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM options and is priced at Rs 36,990 and Rs 38,990 respectively. It comes in Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink, and Lemonade Blue color options.
The Galaxy A9 will be sold through offline retail stores and online via Flipkart and Samsung Online Store. The Galaxy A9 sports 3D curved glass body with a gradient finish. It comes with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU.
The device comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded additionally up to 512GB via a MicroSD card.
Talking about the cameras on this quad camera smartphone, there is a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 10MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and finally a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the rear, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor.
With all these four rear cameras, the device can capture photos with 2x optical zoom, 120-degree wide-angle view, and DSLR-like portrait shots. The camera app on the Galaxy A9 also comes included with AI feature like auto scene detection for capturing better photos.
On the front, there is a single 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Galaxy A9 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience OS out of the box.
To lit the screen the device packs a 3,800mAh non-removable battery that also supports adaptive fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
