Xiaomi’s sub-brand Pocophone or Poco has officially launched its first-ever flagship smartphone, the Poco F1, at a launch event today in New Delhi. The Poco F1 the Chinese giant’s entry to India’s premium smartphone segment.
Before moving further it’s better to have a look at the pricing and the availability of the device because it blows us out!
Price And Availability
Competing with the OnePlus and Asus in the budget flagship segment, Xiaomi’s Poco F1 has been priced starting at Rs 20,999. Isn’t it insane! Well this pricing made the Xiaomi’s Pocp F1 world’s cheapest device to come with SD 845.
It will be available in 3 different variants:
6GB + 64GB – Rs 20,999
6GB + 128GB – Rs 23,999
8GB + 256GB – Rs 28,999
8GB + 256GB (Kevlar Edition) – Rs 29,999
The Poco F1 also comes in three different colour options namely Steel Blue, Rosso Red, and Graphite Black. According to me, the Kevlar edition looks like Xiaomi’s answer to the OnePlus 6’s Avengers Edition.
The device will be exclusively available online via Flipkart and Xiaomi’s Mi stores across the country from 29th August.
However, the First Sale offer include additional Rs.1000 off.
Specifications and Features
In terms of Design, the Poco F1 resembles Mi 8 a lot from the front. It does have a huge notch and chin but doesn’t boast of a premium glass rear.
The Poco F1 sports a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display, with 19:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. Its notch not only resides the front camera, earpiece, and sensors but also boasts of ‘IR Face Unlocking’ hardware similar to the one we’ve seen on the Xiaomi Mi 8.
Obviously, it does have the Snapdragon 845 Chipset and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with the all new Poco Launcher. The Poco launcher will be available for grabs starting from August 29. It has an app drawer as opposed to MIUI and features a ton of customizations such as hidden apps, group icons by color and third-party icon support.
In terms of Optics, the Poco F1 brings a dual 12MP + 5MP rear camera setup placed along the center, along with a single 20MP front camera for selfies. The device comes with several AI camera features, including scene recognition (206 scenes over 25 categories), AI portraits (with options to switch between normal, backlit, and silhouette) and more
Connectivity options on the device include, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WI-Fi Direct, 3.5mm headphone jack (the oh-so-important mention) and USB Type-C charging port.
To lit the screen, it has a massive 4,000 mAh battery coupled with Quick Charge 3.0, that should easily last you the day on a single charge.
No IP rating is revealed, but you do get liquid cooling tech on board for 300% faster heat transfer and much improved graphics performance.
With the amazing specs and badass pricing, the Poco F1 will take on the likes of OnePlus 6 and Zenfone 5Z. Moreover, the Poco F1 will also compete with Honor Play in this price segment.
