Oppo a Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched it’s A83 smartphone, today at an event in Bangalore, India. The handset is aggressively priced by Oppo at Rs. 13,990 and will be available via Amazon, Flipkart and as well as offline retail stores starting Saturday, January 20. The device is available in Black and Gold colour options. Oppo launched this smartphone in China late last month and today launched it in India.
Oppo designed this smartphone with its UFOs (UFO Curve Design Philosophy). As expected, Oppo A83 features a full-screen display with thin bezels.
Oppo A83 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat-based ColorOS 3.2 and has a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device has MediaTek MT6763T SoC, octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM.
In terms of camera, the device sports a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the back with an LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera sensor. The rear camera of the device supports Ultra-HD mode that can create an image of 50-megapixel resolution. The front camera of the A83 enables face unlocking and comes preloaded with the company’s AI Beauty Recognition technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) efforts to enhance selfies and group shots.
In connectivity department the device has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone also has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and comes with a pre-installed O-Share file-sharing app which is claimed to transmit 6-7 photos in just a second.
The Oppo A83 has 32GB storage that can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card slot. Sensors on the device includes ambient light, accelerometer, and proximity. The smartphone packs a 3180 mAh battery and weighs 143 grams.
