Last year, OPPO launched the OPPO F5, OPPO F5 6GB, and OPPO F5 Youth smartphones with trending 18:9 display technology. Now in 2018, Oppo is launching a new variant of the OPPO F5 which is to be known as the OPPO F5 Sidharth Limited Edition. It is the same OPPO F5 Dashing Blue edition which was announced in few Southeast Asian markets. According to the teaser video, this new limited edition device will be available from February 8th in India.
The OPPO F5 was available in Gold and Black color variants and is priced at Rs. 19,990. In contrary to the regular OPPO F5, the new OPPO F5 Sidharth Limited Edition in Blue color comes with a glossy finish. In terms of specifications, we don’t expect to see any changes on this new variant. On the front, we will be looking for a 6-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display with the 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood is the 16nm MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor which is coupled with Mali-G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It includes 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card. In terms of Optics, there is a 16MP camera on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and a 20MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. It is backed by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery but sadly lacks fast charging support.
The device will be still running on the Android 7.1 Nougat based ColorOS out of the box. The device also supports Face Unlock alongside the fingerprint sensor. Recently, Oppo launched the OPPO A83 smartphone in India for Rs. 13,990. It came only with Face Unlock and missed the fingerprint sensor. Talking about the OPPO F5 Sidharth Limited Edition, other details are still not known.
