Corning has recently informed about the Gorilla Glass for protection of smartphone’s camera lens. By introducing Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX+, Corning has insured users of advanced optical performance with superior scratch resistance and durability.
Gorilla Glass DX
Gorilla Glass DX will have composites capture 98 percent of light for the camera lens, as per the company. This same glass is being around but company will be using Gorilla Glass DX for smart phone protection for first time.
Gorilla Glass DX+
Gorilla Glass DX+ will get protection closer to Sapphire according to Corning. These glasses were used for wearables like smart watch protection since 2018.

Features
As per Jaymin Amin, General Manager and Vice President of Corning, antireflective coating was being used for long time for improving light capture. But the problem with the same was that it was scratch easy and thus resulting in bad image quality. With these Gorilla Glasses, one will have protected lens with scratch resistance, improved optical performances and durability. This will be better than earlier being used.
When in practical
According to reports, Samsung will be the first smart phone to use this technology. Which will be the first model? It is possible that the models will be Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 which will be launching next month. Other smart phones will too use this Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX+ in the future. One have to wait for confirmation.
