2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launched at a Mouth watering price

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new second-gen Ertiga with prices starting at Rs 7.44 lakh and going up to Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

At 4,395mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,690mm high, the new Ertiga is longer, wider and taller than the first-gen model, and has a 2,740mm wheelbase. It has a turning radius of 5.2 metres and gets a 45-litre fuel tank.

The new Ertiga is offered with Maruti’s 1.3-litre diesel engine at 90hp tuning and a new 1.5-litre petrol engine borrowed from the Ciaz facelift. The petrol motor produces 105hp and 138Nm of torque.

This time around, Maruti is offering SHVS mild-hybrid technology on both, the petrol and diesel models. While the diesel model carries forward the same setup as its predecessor, the petrol motor is offered with two batteries, with one used to provide torque assistance in daily driving. Ertiga offers a 5-speed manual, with a petrol-only 4-speed torque converter automatic. The MPV is available in 10 variant options for buyers to choose from.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets an all new design language that makes it a much much better looking car as compared to the outgoing model. The new Ertiga now gets headlamps with projector lens along with a set of boomerang shaped LED tail lamps. The new Ertiga continues to get 15-inch alloy wheels on the top spec models while 15-inch steel wheels with or without wheel caps will continue on the lower VXI and LXI trims respectively.

The new Ertiga packs more features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (offered on the top spec models). The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will have roof mounted AC vents for the third row and also get wooden inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel for a more premium looking interior as compared to the first gen model. The MPV offers a boot capacity of 209 litres, which can be expanded to 809 litres with the second third row folded.

The new Ertiga’s base model costs Rs 1.1 lakh more, but certainly it offers rear parking sensors, dual airbags and two-battery mild-hybrid setup.
