As we reported earlier, Samsung India officially launched the Galaxy A8+ (2018) today in India. As of now, this device is the Samsung’s latest high-end smartphone. Today Samsung India launched the A8+ in India with a price tag of Rs. 32,990 and will be exclusively sold via Amazon India from January 20th.
The device comes with a 6-inch Super AMOLED Display with full HD+ resolution ( 18.5:9 aspect ratio). The smartphone sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and 16MP + 8MP dual front camera with f/1.9 aperture. Sadly, it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not on recent Android 8.0 Oreo. The device is IP67 certified which makes it water and dust resistant.

After Galaxy S8, A8 and A8+ will be the first smartphones from the company containing Super AMOLED,1080×2220 infinity display. Samsung Galaxy A8 will attract a display of 5.6- inch, whereas A8+ has 6.0-inch FHD.
Powered by Android Nougat 7.1.1 with an octa-core chip with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The Galaxy A8(2018) has 4GB RAM, while the Galaxy A8+(2018) comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM options.The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) have 32GB and 64GB of storage options which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).
Both the smartphones contain dual front camera keeping in mind the love of youth for selfies. There is a 16-megapixel fixed focus, f/1.9 camera sensor, and an 8-megapixel f/1.9 sensor.
Both the sensors provide the users to either blur the background( Bokeh effect) or have a clear background. At rear Samsung attaches a 16MP camera with a f/1.7 lens. The rear camera comes with video stabilization technology and supports features such as hyperlapse
and a Food mode.
From the connectivity point of view, both the smartphones have 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
A8 will contain a 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy A8+ (2018) has a 3500mAhbattery. Both the smartphones contain various sensors such as Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Proximity Sensor and RGB Light Sensor.
The Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018) are available in four colours including black, orchid grey, gold and blue.
According to Mr. Junho Park, Vice President of Global Product Planning, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics “With the release of the Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018), we’re bringing our customers’ favorite features from our flagship smartphones, such as the Infinity Display and our first Dual Front Camera with Live Focus, to our Galaxy A series, which is already known for its premium design”.
