Chipset giant, Qualcomm has just launched a brand new mobile platform Snapdragon 710. The SoC is Qualcomm’s attempt at bringing some of the most in-demand premium features from flagship chipsets like the Snapdragon 845 into a new range of smartphones.
The Snapdragon 710 comes with following features:
CPU | Kryo 360 2x 2.2GHz(Cortex-A75) 6x 1.7GHz (Cortex-A55) |
GPU | Adreno 616 |
DSP | 3.0 |
ISP | Spectra 250 |
LTE | X15 LTE 800 Mbps down, 300 Mbps up 3x20MHz CA, up to 4×4 MIMO on two carriers |
Process | 10nm |
It is very clear from the above mentioned details that Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset comes with a ton of features that are very close to the flagship Mobile Platform — the Snapdragon 845.
Some precise features of the SoC are:
AI
The Snapdragon 710 comes with a dedicated multi-core AI,and according to the manufacturer, it will deliver up to 2x better performance improvements in AI-based applications when compared to the SD 660. The Mobile Platform uses 2 high-powered Cortex-A75 cores, and 6 low-powered Cortex-A55 cores.
Spectra 250 ISP
The Snapdragon 710 is the first Snapdragon processor, apart from the 800 series to feature the second generation spectra ISP. This means that the Snapdragon 710 can make full use of single 32MP sensors, or dual 20MP sensors along with better low-light images.
Adreno 616
With the Adreno 616 GPU the SD 710 can do a lot of things which earlier were reserved for the 800 series SoCs. The SoC with Adreno 616 can now play 4K HDR content and that too with a 40% reduction in power consumption, as compared to the Snapdragon 660.
Connectivity
The X15 LTE will allow the Snapdragon 710 to achieve downlink speeds of up to 800Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 300Mbps. The SD card 710 also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and comes with support for Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus which allows for usage of truly wireless earphones.
Battery
It is quite obvious that with the smaller 10nm process, the SD 710 will offer a higher power efficiency than the Snapdragon 660. It also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, that according to Qualcomm will let users get a 50% battery charge in just 15 minutes.
