Earlier: OnePlus has become a highly successful smartphone brand in the last 5 years and to continue that OnePlus has today launched this year’s T smartphone i.e., the OnePlus 6T.
FYI, the OnePlus 6T is just an upgrade over the initial OnePlus 6. It comes with upgraded cameras, waterdrop notch display, in-display fingerprint scanner and sadly without a 3.5mm Audio Jack! The company’s CEO has taken the stage to showcase the successor of the OnePlus 6 – the 6T in all its glory.
The new flagship from the company sports an all-new 6.41-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The new display has a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection along with the new in-screen fingerprint scanner (which the company has been promoting as a new way to unlock the phone for a while now). While the launch is slated on 30th Oct in India, here’s the first look on the new OnePlus 6T.
In terms of design the OnePlus 6T shares its aesthetics with the Oppo’s R17. While the front looks beautiful on the OnePlus 6T, the rear appears to be similar to the OP6, but without a fingerprint sensor. Despite the new design and unlocking features, OnePlus took a drastic step with its new OnePlus 6T. Similar to Google’s approach with its Pixel 2 devices, OnePlus has also ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack on the OnePlus 6T.
The company now provides a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box, or you can purchase the USB Type-C headsets.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and Adreno 630 GPU. The phone comes in 6GB/8GB and 128GB/256GB storage variants.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 6T shares the identical sensors as featured in the OnePlus 6 – 20MP + 16MP (f/1.7) cameras on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera sensor. However, the company claims the new 6T can take better portraits and selfies and also comes up with Nightscape, exceptional HDR and super slow motion modes, which are acclaimed to improve the camera performance from the OnePlus 6.
As far as prices are concerned, the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at $549. The middle one with 8GB of RAM & 128GB of storage costs $579, while the higher variant comes with 8GB+256GB storge and is priced at $629.
