Honor India in the second half of 2017, launched the Honor 9i cell phone with dual rear and front cameras. And today (Wednesday, 17th January), the company launched the successor to the Honor 9i smartphone named 9 Lite. As observed on the Honor 9i, this new device also packs four cameras, two cameras at the rear and other two cameras on the front.
Honor revealed about this device 2 weeks ago and today at an event in New Delhi launched it. The Honor Lite 9 aggressively priced at Rs 10,999 for 3/32GB variant. But sadly, the price tag for 4/64GB is slightly higher considering the base prices.
First Look
The honor 9 Lite has a 5 65-inch Full HD+ display with (2160×1980) 18:9 aspect ratio. Embellished with Micron size mirror like finish, the device looks premium and shines bright. With this device you probably need not to carry and type of pocket mirror with you! The device is sleek and has premium double-sided 2.5D glass unibody. At the rear of the device you’ll get a circular fingerprint sensor.
Performance
As expected, the Honor 9 Lite is equipped with kirin 659 octa-core processor, fabricated in a cutting-edge 16 nanometer process and is clocked at 2.36Ghz. The GPU of the 9 Lite is Mali T830 MP2. The Honor 9 Lite runs on EMUI 8.0 which is equipped with the latest AI technology from Huawei. The device houses a SD card slot which allows you to expand the memory of device upto 256GB. The Honor’s latest EMUI 8.0 skin is based on the Android 8.0 Oreo. Honor has packed the device with 3,000 mAh battery, and claims to offer a standby time of up to 24 hours. The device is 4G-VoLTE Enabled and supports hybrid dual-SIM (nano) configuration.
Camera
At the optics front, the smartphone sports 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back and front of the gadget. Other features of the camera app include bokeh mode, PDAF and flash.
We have taken some pictures with the new smartphone and the picture quality is good. Bokeh or portrait mode is also good, considering the price tag.
Availability
The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart, from January 21 midnight. Honor 9 Lite will be available on three color options- Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Glacier Grey. The device ships with complimentary back cover. And people who purchase the device using their CitiBank credit and debit cards, via Flipkart will also get 10% instant cashback.
