Honor 8X specifications

Honor has been known to offer premium-looking smartphones at affordable prices be it Honor 9 lite or the Honor 9i. The Honor 8X continues that trend by offering a unique and attractive glass back design. However, this time, the design is quite unique as unlike typical glass rear panels, the 2.5D glass panel on the Honor 8X has a double textured design with a matt-like strip running down on the left side while the rest of the panel has a more glossy reflective look.

On the front, the Honor 8X brings a massive 6.5-inch FHD+ ,19.5:9 (1080×2340) notch display in a pretty compact form factor. Honor has been able to offer this by reducing the bezels all around, offering just a notch and a very narrow chin. Moreover, the Honor 8X has 91% screen-to-body ratio, which is quite impressive!

The Honor 8X is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 AI chipset coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The chipset is able to compete with the likes of Snapdragon 636 or 660. The device will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top. The honor 8X houses a 3,750mAh battery and supports dual nano SIM cards with a dedicated slot for microSD (up to 400GB).

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz and Bluetooth 4.2, among others. Honor adds that the Honor 8X is fast to connect to a 4G network for a seamless connectivity at all times.

In terms of Optics, the Honor 8X include a dual camera configuration with a 20MP + 2MP setup with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support. On the front, the device has a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The cameras get some AI support as well with the ability to detect scenes and automatically adjust the setting to get the best results. AI motion detection will also be able to recognise movement so that you can capture the right motion shot. Additionally, the device supports super night shot mode, backlit portrait selfies and super slow motion recording at 720p @ 480FPS. The Honor 8X measures 160.4×76.6x 7.8mm and weighs 175 grams.
