Mercedes-Benz India has kicked off the fiscal year 2025-26 with a record-breaking sales performance, retailing 4,238 units in Q1 (April–June 2025) — a 10% year-on-year growth, reaffirming its position as the most desirable luxury automotive brand in the country.
This robust growth comes on the back of strong demand in both Top-End Luxury and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) segments. The company also announced the launch of the GLS AMG Line — a sportier, more expressive version of its best-selling full-size luxury SUV — priced at ₹1.4 crore for the GLS 450 AMG Line and ₹1.43 crore for the GLS 450d AMG Line (ex-showroom India).
Top-End Luxury Leads the Charge
The company reported a 20% increase in Top-End Luxury sales, driven by models like the Mercedes-Maybach, S-Class, AMG G 63, and EQS SUV. Even exclusive variants like the AMG GT 63 PRO and G 580 with EQ Technology witnessed overwhelming demand. The recently launched AMG G 63 Collector’s Edition also sold out swiftly, indicating high enthusiasm in the niche high-luxury SUV space.
Core Segment Remains Solid
The Core segment, which includes popular models such as the C-Class, E-Class LWB, GLC, and GLE, contributed 60% to overall sales and also grew by 10%. The E-Class LWB continued to hold its spot as India’s highest-selling luxury sedan, while the C-Class, GLC, and GLE solidified their strong brand recall and value proposition.
BEV Momentum Accelerates
Mercedes-Benz’s BEV portfolio saw 157% growth, now accounting for 8% of total sales, with a noticeable surge in customer demand for top-end EVs. The EQS 450 SUV, EQS Maybach Night Series, and G 580 with EQ Tech were the key contributors. Due to overwhelming interest, the waiting period for certain BEVs now extends up to 6 months.
