OnePlus 6
Late last year, a list was released. The purported list contain the names of smartphones arriving in 2018 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset. The list mentioned various smartphones including the OnePlus 6 which would be launching in June. In an interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed both of those details.
“There’s no other choice” for his company than the Snapdragon 845, Lau said. The smartphone is expected to launch late in the second quarter, which ends on June 30. Lau didn’t confirmed the name of the device but logic dictates that it will end up being called.
The CEO apparently is not 100% sure if OnePlus will out a second device in 2018 (a 6T). But, as we seen the trend in the past two years. It’s too obvious.
And finally, the Chinese manufacturer is open to partnering up with the US carriers for sales of it’s devices. Lau said, “If the right opportunity and right timing come along, we’ll be very happy to experiment”. However, Lau declined to give any details as to when the deal might struck. It will be interesting to see that how the company manages to persuade US carriers especially in the light of Huawei’s recent failure.
